Castle-an-Dinas Map
Castle-an-Dinas is an Iron Age hillfort between St Columb Major and Roche on the old A30 road. It consists of three ditches and rampart concentric rings, which incidentally are 850ft above sea level.
From 1916 to 1957 it was the site of Cornwall's largest wolfram mine.

Directions to Castle-an-Dinas:
If you are travelling by car, access can be found from either;
from Newquay take the A3059 to the A39 roundabout, go straight over as if heading to Roche (along the old A30) and Castle-an-Dinas will be signposted approximately 3km on the left. If you pass over the new dual carriageway A30 then you have gone too far!
from the A30, take the junction for Victoria (Roche) and head along the B3274, travel straight past Roche and stay on this road, go under the old iron bridge and over the new part of the A30 and Castle-an-Dinas turning will be on the right after approximately 2 miles
