The small fishing village of Lamorna is approximately 4 miles (6 km) south of Penzance in west Cornwall. Lamorna has been immortalised in the song "Way Down to Lamorna", about a wayward husband receiving his comeuppance from his wife! The song is beloved of many Cornish singers. Granite taken from nearby Lamorna Cove has been widely used in construction, most notably in the Thames Embankment.
