Messi All Set For Uruguay in The World Cup Qualifier After an Injury Comeback

Lionel Messi is now recovered and strong enough to play Uruguay in the World Cup qualifier on Friday. The Argentina player had stayed out of the last two Paris St Germain’s games, due to knee and hamstring injuries.

According to the Argentina coach, Lionel Scaloni, the 34-year old Messi had to work with different staff to ensure he gets tactical preparation. Messi is set to participate in the two irresistible matches, with Uruguay in Montevideo and at home with Brazil on coming Tuesday.

Speaking to reporters, Scaloni and his staff believe Leo is capable and healthy. More so, he wants him to play and so does Leo.

Sadly, the PSG general manager, Leonardo did not take Messi’s sign up warmly. But, Scaloni aims at taking down any disagreements between them.

Scaloni’s Intervention

Scaloni however, understands Leornado’s reaction bearing in mind they have a relationship. Besides, Messi recently spent much time with the national team.

He believes calling Messi up is within the sport rules, though it has always been an issue with the European clubs.

Argentina is six points behind Brazil after playing 11 games. They hold second place out of the 10 teams in the South America qualifying group.

The first four teams will obviously qualify for Qatar 2022 World Cup while the team at the fifth position will play at the inter-regional.

Argentina has been undefeated in 25 games since mid-2019. They also won the Copa America championship in July.
